This Too Shall Pass

When it rains it pours

My prayers He ignores

If there’s even a He

He’s not listening to me

Pause, breathe, surrender

Where is my defender?

In the eye of the storm I stand

Frantically searching for a hand

This too shall pass, on repeat

Losing ground beneath my feet

They tell us that showers bring flowers

I’d have a garden with that power

Waiting for the sun to shine and rain to dry

All I know is I’m giving it my best try
